While the demand for lithium-ion batteries is increasing exponentially the required resources are limited leading to a twofold demand to supply in 2050. However, while further increased efforts for mining and raw material extraction might resolve some demand issues, it also introduces high levels of pollution, safety concerns, equality, inclusion, and social responsibility issues all around the globe. However, to minimize further mining needs, we as Novocycle want to change the ecosystem and business environment by imposing circular economy strategies. Thus, Novocycle's main objective is to innovate sustainable and profitable technologies and our primary step is the implementation and roll-out of a highly efficient and environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery recycling process for batteries from electrical vehicles but also notebooks, mobile phones and other devices.
