Exactmer
Exactmer, incorporated in 2018, is a spin-out company from Imperial College London. Our mission is to redefine what is possible in exact polymer synthesis and set a new industry standard for the manufacturing of polymers bound for use in new medicines.
There is increasing interest in using biopolymers such as oligonucleotides to develop new therapies for a wide range of currently untreatable diseases. These polymers are mostly prepared by solid-state synthesis, resulting in very poor scaling capabilities, low final purity and high prices. This means that the promising development of new therapies is currently limited by the high cost of manufacture - we believe Exactmer can help to solve this problem.
Exactmer specialises in the synthesis of biopolymers (oligonucleotides, peptides) and synthetic polymers (eg PEGs) using our patented Nanostar Sieving Technology, which allows the synthesis of the polymers in liquid phase. We produce polymers of unprecedented precision and length by using this completely new approach, opening the way to supremely accurate polymers for use as pharmaceuticals, and drastically reducing drug manufacturing costs.
rqmicro AG
rqmicro AG is a life sciences and tech startup, founded in 2013 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich (Switzerland). rqmicro is domiciled in Schlieren, Switzerland, and operates a representative office in Shanghai, China.
Since its inception, rqmicro has invested significant resources in the development of its unique and proprietary platform for rapid detection of bacteria in water.
rqmicro aims to protect consumers worldwide from microbiologically contaminated water. Our first commercial application focuses on the detection of Legionella bacteria, the most relevant threat in drinking water systems.
LiBCycle GmbH
LiBCycle - Your partner for compliant lithium-ion battery transports in Europe.
We offer a full service including logistics, specially developed packaging and recycling. Our customers only need to tell us where a battery needs to be transported and we take care of the rest.
EnginZyme
EnginZyme is a Swedish startup with the vision to make the chemical industry green by unlocking the potential in enzymes. Our cell-free biomanufacturing platform is created through a best-in-class approach that combines the breadth and power of biology and the efficiencies of the chemical industry. By replacing traditional fossil-based manufacturing with a cell-free technology platform, we seek to play a key role in solving one of the fundamental challenges of our time – how to produce better, greener, and cheaper products that we use every day.
Our technology gives us a unique position to address many challenges facing the chemical industry in the 21st century. In particular, our ambition is to play a key role in tackling climate change — both by accelerating the industry’s transition to sustainability, and by innovating solutions for other industries through novel chemical products. We’re funded by well-known investors, have been recognised as Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, and employ some of the best researchers in their respective fields.
DermaPurge GmbH
DermaPurge is a technology spin-off from the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden. The development was triggered by a laboratory accident: a student assistant had gotten a cadmium selenide quantum dot nanoparticle solution on her skin despite the prescribed personal safety equipment (PPE).
Some had gotten under the gown onto the skin via the glove. Since no means were available at that time to effectively remove the nanoparticles from the skin, we developed nano-ex. With DermaPurge, we bring the solution to our colleagues in nanotechnology.
Myriade
Myriade is a French company created in 2017 that develops an innovative nanoscale imaging technology.
OneD Battery Sciences
In 2013, OneD Battery Sciences acquired Nanosys’ nanowire technologies (SINANODE) and its Palo Alto R&D activities.
Today, OneD operates a SINANODE pilot production to support the development of advanced electrochemical cells and the production scale up of its industrial partners.
Building upon over a decade of R&D, Yimin Zhu, PhD, OneD’s CTO, leads a team that continues to improve the SINANODE manufacturing processes that redefine the potential of lithium ion batteries in electric vehicles.
OneD partners with leading material suppliers, battery makers, and their customers to scale up production and accelerate market adoption to meet current and future market demand.
The SINANODE processes are optimized to enable large scale manufacturing of high performance anode materials at competitive cost, and to ensure compatibility with the processes of current and future EV cell factories.
Polytives GmbH
At Polytives, we develop novel additives for plastics. Our additives are based on the use of (highly) branched polymers, which can be used to adjust material properties such as viscosity, polymerization shrinkage or elasticity. The additives that Polytives produces can be used in more than 2/3 of the polymers currently used in the plastics industry. They can therefore be used in a variety of ways and open up new possibilities, with very good manageability, new possibilities in plastics production.
Electrochaea GmbH
Electrochaea GmbH offers a nationally and internationally patented power-to-gas key technology based on biocatalysis, which recycles CO2 cost-effectively and at the same time produces biological methane that can be stored and used as required from excess electrical energy. The first pilot plant used on an industrial scale is successfully operating in Denmark. Plants with an output of more than one gigawatt are planned for 2025. 23 employees work for Electrochaea in Denmark and at the headquarters in Munich-Planegg.
refuel.green consulting & technologies GmbH
refuel.green is one of the world's most innovative start-ups in the field of e-fuels. Founded in Dresden in 2021, the team of ca. 10 engineers and entrepreneurs is committed to making a decisive contribution to a CO2-neutral global economy. Specifically, the innovative, plasmacatalysis-based "NextGen-PtX Reactor Unit" is being developed, built and marketed. In line with its holistic value proposition, the refuel.green GmbH also supports its customers with consulting on the technically and economically optimal integration of the units into existing production plants or into new projects. Thanks to this overall offer, refineries, for example, can convert their business operations, which are currently dependent on fossil crude oil, to the production of CO2-neutral, renewable e-fuels in a particularly competitive manner.
