CarboTech AC GmbH

WORLD LEADING FULL-SERVICE PROVIDER OF ACTIVE CARBONS

The CarboTech Group is one of the world's leading full-service providers of high-quality powdered, granulated and extruded activated carbons. At our production site in the heart of the Ruhr area, activated carbons, activated coke and carbon molecular sieves are produced, refined and packaged from hard coal, coconut coal and charcoal. As the market leader with over 60 years of experience in the reactivation and use of activated carbon for a wide range of different applications, we are always the competent solution provider for our customers.

This includes not only the selection of the right activated carbon, but also our comprehensive 360° service package, from which our customers can individually select the components they need. The service principle for our customers is: everything from a single source - everything as simple as possible.

QUALITY, EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Our globally unique fluidized bed process guarantees our customers highly effective activated carbon with consistent quality, excellent service life and high efficiency.

Another step towards expanding our range of services and reducing our carbon footprint was the addition of a brand new multi-chamber vehicle to our service fleet. This enables loaded activated carbon to be exchanged for fresh carbon in just one appointment.

In terms of a functioning and sustainable circular economy, our focus is always on reactivating the loaded used carbons and then returning them to the utilization cycle.

Let us find out what CarboTech can do for you. Our sales experts look forward to hearing from you.

Glassomer GmbH

Structuring of glass is challenging and usually requires high temperatures to shape a glass melt or aggressive chemicals for etching of microstructures. Glassomer is a silica nanocomposite which comes as a liquid or a solid. As a liquid Glassomer (e.g. Glassomer L50) can be structured by room temperature replication or stereolithography 3D printing. As a solid Glassomer can be structured using classical subtractive structuring technologies like drilling, milling, lathing or simply carving with a knife. It can further be structured using thermal polymer molding technologies like nanoimprinting, thermoforming or high-throughput roll-to-roll replication. A final heat treatment turns the polymeric nanocomposites into high quality fused silica glass. The conversion takes place at 700 °C below the temperature for handling of silica melts (~2000 °C) and thus saves a considerable amount of energy.

Groam Tech AG

Groam is on a mission to convert agricultural biomass waste streams into new biodegradable foamed materials.

Foams are all around us: in our insulation, car interior, protective packaging and many more. Polymeric foams have excellent properties and functions like damping, cushioning, insulating or simply sparing material. The light and bulky foams are however very hard or impossible to recycle and mostly not biodegradable. This is especially alarming for fast disposables.

We believe in a future of recycling and renewable resources. This is why we started screening different kinds of waste streams and their components and thinking of how to foam them. Today, Groam has a vision of creating foams based on agricultural waste streams at the same performance and price as today’s foams. In the future, Groam plans to establish connections with agricultural waste stream producers and converters to develop a whole new supply chain connecting the food and polymeric foam industry and bringing impactful products to the consumers.
