Micromeritics N.V./S.A.

In the early 1960’s, a graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology named Warren Hendrix and his advisor, Dr. Clyde Orr, built what is believed to be the first all-metal, transportable gas adsorption analyzer. Their vision was to provide a commercially available instrument that would allow anybody (with just a small amount of training) to measure the surface area of materials and particulates using gas adsorption methodology.

The two first realized the need for such an instrument two years earlier while working on a research project involving measuring the surface area of particles using glass rack technology (a slow and tedious process requiring constant monitoring). They understood that with better-designed equipment, they could simplify the complexities of particle analysis and convey the benefits of this science to industry.

The term "micromeritics" is used to describe the science and technology of small particles. It was the the obvious choice for the name of the Micromeritics Instrument Corporation, founded by Warren Hendrix and Clyde Orr in July of 1962.

Micromeritics was the first company to market commercially automated surface area, mercury penetration, and sedimentation particle size analyzers. Micromeritics is world-renowned for its pioneering innovations in these areas and others, including porosimetry, density, zeta potential, and chemisorption analysis. The company has also led the way in the areas of liquid chromatography, density, automatic sample delivery, TPD/TPR chemisorption, balanced adsorption surface area, and DFT Plus® (NLDFT) data interpretation. The company has been granted over forty patents in these combined areas of materials characterization.

Micromeritics' corporate headquarters, manufacturing, R&D, and the Materials Analysis Laboratory are all located in Norcross (Atlanta), Georgia, USA. We have direct sales and service offices, as well as a full network of distributors, throughout the world.

Oleon NV

Oleon brings you a natural chemistry. Our specialty lies in converting natural fats and oils into a wide range of oleochemical products, such as fatty acids, glycerin, esters, dimers, technical oils, specialty oleochemicals and biodiesel. As a leading producer of oleochemicals made from renewable raw materials, our products combine high performance with ready biodegradability.

At Oleon, we believe that a natural chemistry entails much more than just the production of our oleochemicals. That is why we attach great importance to all the people who matter to us. We invest in our employees, commit to long-term relationships with our clients, communicate openly with our suppliers and respect our neighbors. We believe that all these factors contribute to a natural chemistry with all our stakeholders, including the wider community in which we do business, which benefits all levels of our supply chain.

Oleon's natural chemistry is everywhere. We offer our oleochemical building blocks and ingredients in a large variety of markets such as: Crop protection, Cosmetics, Industrial Ingredients, Lubricants, Nutrition ,Oilfield, Coatings, Detergents and many more. The trade name of our products is Radia®. Radia® oleochemicals are used in a wide range of industries as raw materials, ingredients or additives (enhancing the properties of the end product). These oleochemicals are used for their functional properties such as chemical reactivity, lubricity, stabilization of emulsions, etc. The industry also attaches great value to the fact that most oleochemicals are completely non-toxic, and do not cause skin or eye irritation.

Our global commercial, finance, purchasing and HR functions are based at Ertvelde near Ghent (Belgium). We have two production sites in Belgium (Ertvelde and Oelegem), one in Germany (Emmerich), one in Compiègne (France) and two in Port Klang (Malaysia). We have a number of sales affiliates in all continents.

Thermo-Clean Heusden-Zolder N.V.

The cleaning of frame systems, skids, grates and definitely also extractor components, heat exchangers, filters, moulds, etc. is a really specialized industry and so not suitable for everybody. Environmental problems, installations that are out-of-date or perhaps not used very much, and a constant level of quality and reliability do, after all, demand a professional solution!

Knowledge that has been built up over years, the right installations, a well-founded work structure and well-trained and motivated personnel form the essential factors for guaranteeing perfect cleaning within the agreed delivery terms. Respect for the environment also plays a very important role here, of course.

Your expensive machine components do, after all, deserve the best possible treatment!

The Thermo-Clean Group has, as one of the biggest players in the market of industrial cleaning, specialized in the removal of organic finishes or contaminations from metal structures in an ecologically responsible way.

Your components are therefore in good hands with Thermo-Clean!

Orthodyne

Orthodyne: your expert in gas chromatography!

Instruments, detectors and analytical engineering

What started as a family business manufacturing wireless radio sets in the 1920s, Orthodyne has evolved into a whole new field of technology and innovation.

For almost 30 years, the company was involved in the wireless business. This dwindled in the early 1950s as transistor radios imported from America brought the curtain down on our activities. Transistor Radios Orthodyne

Consequently, Orthodyne began producing appliances to measure impurities in argon used for welding. These chromatographs were fitted with a detector using high frequency discharges to serve in steel plants in Liege (Belgium).

Afterwards, the company’s customer base widened to Germany and France. The structure and product range grew to include new high purity detectors for industrial and laboratory applications. Orthodyne played a ‘pioneering role’ in this field. Following this up by further broadening its product range and developing in-house analytical software's.

Total analytical solutions

Today, from its headquarters in Alleur and with a workforce of about 55 people, Orthodyne exports around 95% of production. This can be achieved via national sales and distributors on every continent. In addition, Orthodyne works in cooperation with all major producers and suppliers of industrial gas throughout the world.

Shelter outside 2The company is now immersed in instruments, detectors and total analytical engineering solutions. We sell more than just products, our mission is to supply solutions. To achieve this, we develop, produce and/or distribute a large range of analytical products and services.

These services include online analyzers, gas chromatographs, analytical engineering, data acquisition systems, maintenance services, and validation. Orthodyne’s special asset is the ‘modular concept’. The company uses a modular system to design and assemble analyzers to meet the most demanding customer requirements.

Orthodyne also specializes in analytical engineering by cooperating with other producers supplying a complementary range. We have just one aim in mind: providing the customer with a total solution. The company can supply IT solutions through in-house development of analysis software, training, maintenance, and permanent support from its after sales department.
