Glassomer GmbH

Structuring of glass is challenging and usually requires high temperatures to shape a glass melt or aggressive chemicals for etching of microstructures. Glassomer is a silica nanocomposite which comes as a liquid or a solid. As a liquid Glassomer (e.g. Glassomer L50) can be structured by room temperature replication or stereolithography 3D printing. As a solid Glassomer can be structured using classical subtractive structuring technologies like drilling, milling, lathing or simply carving with a knife. It can further be structured using thermal polymer molding technologies like nanoimprinting, thermoforming or high-throughput roll-to-roll replication. A final heat treatment turns the polymeric nanocomposites into high quality fused silica glass. The conversion takes place at 700 °C below the temperature for handling of silica melts (~2000 °C) and thus saves a considerable amount of energy.

Elmira Industrial Supplies UG

Elmira Industrial Supplies is a supplier of innovative material and industrial technologies. It supplies own brands supported by own supply-chains , but it also distributes brands for other manufacturers.

Berliner Intermediates: Distributing brand of a diverse range of aliphatic diols for CASE and flexibles, multi-functional aliphatic aromatic polyols for composites and high strength rigid foams PUR and PIR. We address the numerous applications within the PU Industry with sustainable and performing intermediates derived from Castor Rapeseed and Cardanol (ExaPhen) oil.

ExaPhen: it s a brand of Polyols and surfactants- products based on cardanol, a derivative of the CNSL (CashewNutShellLiquid). These polymeric materials are an innovation in the own chemistry of application, thanks to their good miscibility, high bio-content, high aromaticity and functionality.

Since 2015, EIS has worked on developing the application of the ExaPhen technology in the polyurethane industry by focusing particularly on the rigid foams, where the company saw most of the value. Other applications such as resins and coatings have started being explored from 2018.

Cutting-Edge Nanomaterials (CENmat) UG

CENmat is a young and innovative chemical engineering spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) offering a broad range of services ranging from consultation, contractual research to nanomaterial synthesis, upscale and nanomaterial integration.

CENmat started as a nanomaterial company offering highly specialized and custom-tailored nanomaterials applying a holistic approach to fully understand the needs of our customers to design and synthetize the best fitting nanomaterials for their special product or technology.

Due to the proximity of the nanomaterials to other fields and applications and our expertise in these fields such as fuel cells, electrolysers, and other electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies we quickly broadened our services offering contractual research in these areas too. Today CENmat is engaged in multiple research consortia and contractual research projects.
