InSpacePropulsion Technologies (ISPTech) GmbH

We provide green in-space propulsion technologies for every spacecraft. Based on more than a decade of research and development activities at DLR.

InSpacePropulsion Technologies (ISPTech) is a Spin-Off of the Institute of Space Propulsion at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

Current space propulsion systems offer either low cost or a high reliability. With our solutions – based on thousands of hot firing tests at DLR’s facilities – we can serve both worlds: offering low costs with high performance and high reliability.

Our two technologies are suitable for all spacecraft sizes and classes – ranging from cubesats to large satellites, capsules or landers. No matter, if you are a NewSpace player, a large satellite integrator or an institutional organisation, we will offer the right propulsion solution for your specific application.

Augsburg Diamond Technology GmbH

Augsburg Diamond Technology is specialized in the synthesis of large-size single-crystal diamonds. In order to grow the oriented diamond on foreign substrates, heteroepitaxy is applied. Over the past two decades, the basis of this technology was developed at the Institute of Physics at the University of Augsburg. For the first time, these crystals are available for commercial applications. Augsburg Diamond Technology is a spin-off company of the University of Augsburg.

The AuDiaTec single-crystal diamond can be used for a wide range of mechanical, optical, electrical and thermal applications. Applying chemical vapor deposition, all crystals are grown on the specially developed multilayer substrate Ir/YSZ/Si. Hence, diamond crystals with an edge length of at least 20 mm are achievable. Depending on the specific application, individual characteristics regarding transparency or shading can be offered.

The virtues of the diamonds of AuDiaTec are: • Excellent homogeneity (free of joints or growth sector inhomogeneities) • Large dimensions for new applications at affordable prices • Short-term availability also for large edge lengths • Customized crystals (minimized waste during further processing by costumer)

Flux Polymers GmbH

To introduce anti-fouling properties on the plastic surface we use a hydrophilic polymer, which is non-toxic and biocompatible. The polymer is applied on the substrate through fast and efficient dip- or spray coating.

By simple UV-irradiation parts of our polymer react with the plastic surface, so that a permanent attachment of the coating is ensured. The process is fast, cost-efficient and not detrimental to the used material.

The hydrophilic surface finishing is suitable for various plastic substrates and renders the surface antibacterial through anti-adherence activity. Thus biofilm formation can be significantly reduced.

SOLAR MATERIALS GmbH

We are a start-up from Braunschweig, Germany, that deals with the recycling of solar modules. We develop technologies to recycle photovoltaic modules (PV modules) cleanly and economically. By using physical-mechanical processes, we avoid the use of cost-intensive and less sustainable chemicals. Our goal is the complete recovery of all raw materials.

Our goal is a green energy supply through photovoltaics. Through our recycling process, we close the raw material cycle of photovoltaics and thus create a valuable contribution to improving the resource efficiency and CO2 balance of solar modules.

Solar modules contain a variety of raw materials such as glass, aluminum, various plastics, silicon, copper and silver. Especially the functional materials of solar cells, silicon and silver, are lost through current recycling processes and end up in landfills. SOLAR MATERIALS' recycling process is the first in the world to recover all raw materials from solar modules in an economical and energy-efficient way.
