STABL Energy GmbH

STABL Energy is developing a new modular technology to connect battery storage systems to the grid. Founded in Munich in 2019 as m-Bee by Dr. Arthur Singer, Dr. Nam Truong, Martin Sprehe and Christoph Dietrich, STABL’s technology replaces conventional inverters, making commercial and industrial storage systems more efficient, reliable, safe and affordable.

The new approach also enables the seamless and simple integration of discarded batteries from electric vehicles, so-called second-life batteries, and eliminates the dangerous effects of battery ageing. STABL Energy thus increases the service life of these batteries and reduces their resource consumption.

Grandperspective GmbH

With the scanfeld™ system Grandperspective provides the world's first early warning solution for hazardous gases that covers complete industrial sites. Based on our optical sensor units that identify a multitude of chemicals from the distance, we visualize and locate hazardous gas clouds and warn in real time against gas leaks and fugitive emissions.

Grandperspective is a young company rich in experience. Our know-how in the development and application of remote sensing systems has been developed over years of working with plant operators and first responders all over the world. scanfeld™ bundles this knowledge into an innovative solution for the remote monitoring of plants of any size.

The scanfeld™ early warning solution combines a novel detection system with an intelligent software package to form world's first remote monitoring solution that is completely automated. Hundreds of different chemicals are identified from kilometers distance by passive FTIR spectroscopy. Large areas such as production sites, storage or transportation areas are monitored with just a handful of sensor units. Gas leaks are quickly detected and the distribution of hazardous gas clouds is monitored and visualized in real-time.

The fully automated early warning solution is designed for the control room of the plant. It delivers an intuitive visualization of gas clouds and a mapping of hazard zones. It provides additional safety barriers and helps to mitigate the effects of gas release events.

labforward GmbH

Labforward provides digital tools for the laboratory. Amongst its products are the well-designed electronic lab notebook (ELN) Labfolder, and the Internet-of-Things (IoT) platform Laboperator. Labforward was formed by the merger of labfolder GmbH and cubuslab GmbH in May 2019. Labfolder was founded by Simon Bungers (CEO) and biophysicist Florian Hauer (CPO) in 2013, who were later joined by Yannick Skop (COO) and Mario Russo (CTO). Dominic Lütjohann and Julian Lübke, who founded cubuslab GmbH in 2015 joined the Labforward team as co-founders and as leaders of the Laboperator product. The Labfolder ELN is used by more than 40,000 international scientists and supports laboratory teams to record, share, retrieve and validate data as a team. The Laboperator platform can remotely control and monitor laboratory devices and equipment as well as execute structured and automated workflows. Data is stored centrally and is always available for data management platforms such as Labfolder or other ELN or LIMS systems.

anvajo GmbH

Microscopy and spectrometry in the palm of your hand

Anvajo GmbH, a spin-off diagnostic company from Dresden University of Technology, is a developer and manufacturer of point-of-care solutions for the diagnostic testing of liquids. After six years of research, the anvajo team has developed a portable device for point-of-care fluid analysis that has the potential to be used in a wide variety of industries.

The anvajo "fluidlab" combines two central laboratory technologies: 1. Spectroscopy and 2. Microscopy in one portable diagnostic device. The performance of each test is supported by a customly designed sample carrier system that functions in processing and delivering the fluid to the analyzer.

The fluidlab system is highly applicable in all fields of science and has many uses in human and veterinary medicine, food and feed analysis and environmental and water analysis. In veterinary and human medicine, for example, the device can be used to carry out quick diagnostic testing of blood, urine and/or sperm instantly at the point-of-need.

SUMTEQ GmbH

SUMTEQ GmbH, based in Cologne, was founded in 2014. Using an innovative and patented production process, SUMTEQ is the first company in the world to develop polymer nanofoams with pores in the micron and submicron range for the production on an industrial scale. The foams offer a unique combination of material properties enabling a highly efficient insulation performance. The major mid-term targets are the commercialization of these unique foams and the expansion of the technological advantage in the following years.

Wasser 3.0 gGmbH

Wasser 3.0 non-profit GmbH (gGmbH) is a green tech company from Karlsruhe, founded in 2020, which operates at the interface between materials science, water management and water technology.

The Wasser 3.0 strategy detect | remove | reuse focuses on innovative solutions for dealing with microplastics and micropollutants such as pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, PFAS, pesticides and / or fertilizers in various waters.

In view of the extent of global water pollution, we take a systemic approach and work with a focus on effective waste prevention strategies and preventive, environmentally friendly action, also in the areas of education and awareness.

As a sustainability entrepreneur, Wasser 3.0 acts non-profit, cross-sector and with the aim of making measurable contributions to the UN sustainability goals in the areas of clean water, green innovation, climate protection and responsible production.

Sunfire GmbH

Sunfire strives to become the leading European manufacturer of electrolysers and by this a key player in the field of renewable hydrogen, gases and fuels. Sunfire develops and manufactures steam-electrolysers (SOEC). They produce hydrogen or syngas using renewable electricity. Hydrogen can be used in industrial applications, e.g. refineries and steel plants, without further processing. Syngas can be converted to “e-fuels” and “e-gases” via synthesis processes to substitute crude oil or natural gas. The reverse process of the electrolysis, the high-temperature fuel cell (SOFC), complements Sunfire’s product offering. High-temperature fuel cells are used to produce power and heat particularly efficiently based on cogeneration in residential buildings or remote locations.

ScienceDesk GmbH

ScienceDesk is an innovative platform for scientists and engineers to interact with, collaborate on and obtain insights into their experimental data.

Experimental data is the greatest asset in any research process.

Unfortunately, the potential of this asset is not fully exploited due to the variety of data formats and the strong dependence on experts to manually extract specific information. The ScienceDesk research data management system solves this problem by combining documentation and data analysis in a cleverly-engineered data structure. Researchers and scientists are empowered by our algorithms to gain total control of their data. They can not only share datasets, but even the analysis know-how. ScienceDesk fosters collaboration around data by sharing domain-specific expertise and automatizing the processes of data analysis. ScienceDesk can act as smart electronic lab book or institutional research data management system while providing flexibility and convenience to the scientist.
