Hawle Germany was founded in 1967 in Freilassing. The Hawle product portfolio has been constantly extended since then in close consultation with its German customers, and refined to suit their individual requirements. Today customers can enjoy numerous special solutions in addition to more than 500 products.

Our enterprise is deeply rooted in its birthplace in the Berchtesgaden region of Bavaria. Today Hawle with a workforce of approximately 270 numbers among the largest employers in the area, and has developed from being purely a manufacturer of fittings to an independent manufacturer and systems provider.

In order to satisfy the high standards of quality it expects of its products and services, the Hawle Group in Germany extended its activities by establishing Hawle Kunstoff GmbH (Hawle Plastics Ltd) in Wiehl and Hawle Service GmbH (Hawle Service Ltd) in Brühl to compliment the main plant in Freilassing and its own foundry in Fürstenwalde.

Owing to its successful market entry in 1967 and the continual search for new business segments, Hawle is able to offer its customers a large spectrum of customer-orientated services both today and in the future.

Our company has approximately 30 employees and has been active in development, production, and sales of nuclear radiation meters since 1970. Our main activity is development and production of portable radiation meters like Dose Rate Meters and Personal Dosimeters. With the various models dose rates in the range of 1 nSv/h (0.1 µR/h) to 10 Sv/h (1000 R/h) can be measured. Our robust, waterproof, aluminium die cast housings allow use of the instruments even in tough environmental conditions.

tesa Werk Offenburg GmbH

tesa Werk Offenburg GmbH, abbreviated tWO, was established in 1961 as a fully owned subsidiary of Beiersdorf AG. Since the founding of tesa AG, in 2001, tWO has been a separate company belonging to the tesa group. With a current total of 483 employees, among them 35 trainees completing formal training courses, and annual production quantity of approximately 250 million square meters, the Offenburg plant is tesa AG’s largest production location worldwide.

Seventy percent of the products manufactured in Offenburg go on to be used as industrial products in such sectors as the automotive and electronics industries. The company’s clients for this type of product include Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Opel, VW, BASF, Bosch, and Siemens.

The remaining products are intended for private consumers; these include the famous tesafilm®, tesapack®, and tesakrepp®, as well as the useful, multipurpose duct tape line.

One of the site’s main areas of emphasis is environmentally friendly production of adhesive tapes, without the use of solvents. For example, tWO has for several years been using an innovative process developed and patented by tesa that allows it to coat all its masking tapes without solvents.

In total, more than 60 percent of the plant’s entire production yield is now manufactured without the use of solvents.
