Naphthenic specialty products Nynas produces naphthenic specialty products in four main segments. Insulating oil is mainly used to insulate and cool transformers, process oils are predominantly used in rubber, adhesives and printing ink, while base oils are suitable for e.g. metalworking fluids and other industrial lubricants as well as tyre oils.

Bitumen products Bitumen is mainly used as a binding agent in asphalt. The segments that Nynas covers include a variety of different products - from bitumen for general asphalt to emulsions and specialist binding agents for e.g. low temperature and silent asphalt. The Company was started in 1946 by the two partners Mr Holmbom and Mr Hedlund. The company was consequently called Holmbom&Hedlund.

Until the first year of the 70:s the main activity's was sheet metal production and other metal production. With the increased focus on working environment and health problems for workers in the mechanical industry. In 1969 the company invented, and patended a flexible local extractor arm aimed for extracting welding fumes from worksites in the mechanical industry.

This product was put in serial production in 1971. The sales was so successful so the company concentrated its effort on this range and in 1975 it took the name Fumex, the short version for the English Fume Extraction.

Fumex is based in Skellefteå, Sweden. The company is part of the Crenor group a privately owned holding company also located in Skellefteå. Fumex has a sales office in Landskrona Sweden and a subsidiary in Movex Inc in Bath PA, USA.
