Drug and Chemical Toxicology is a subscription-based, peer-reviewed journal publishing full-length research papers, review articles, commentaries, book reviews, data notes and method articles that encompass a broad spectrum of environmental, ecological, and human health toxicological data to include the One Health Paradigm, aligned to the field of risk assessment and analysis, and harmful exposures to drugs and chemicals. Manuscripts are considered according to their relevance to the journal and the scientific integrity, sound study design, and robustness of the submitted article.

Topics include both descriptive and mechanistic research that illustrates the risk assessment implications of exposure to toxic agents to include hazard characterization and analysis, and exposure assessment. Examples of suitable topics include toxicological studies, which are structural examinations of the effects of dose, metabolism, and statistical or mechanism-based approaches to risk assessment and analysis. New findings and methods, along with safety evaluations, are also acceptable. Special issues may be reserved to publish symposium summaries, reviews in toxicology, and overviews of the practical interpretation and application of toxicological data.

The journal’s audience includes applied toxicologists in academic, government, and industrial research settings with interests in applied toxicology, biology, and public health as it applies to advancing understanding of the environmental, ecological, and human health impacts of toxic industrial chemicals, toxic industrial materials, and therapeutic drugs and agents.

All articles received by the Journal will be subject to single-anonymous peer review.
