Aims and Scope:
Molecular Pharmacology publishes high-quality original reports providing new information about molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of pharmaceutical agents on biological systems, as they pertain to pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, and drug discovery.
Relevant topics include studies of:
drug-receptor interactions examined through various methodologies, including studies utilizing x-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, computational modeling, and molecular dynamics
the impact of receptor modulation on cell or system physiology as well as intra- or intercellular signaling systems
function or modulation of enzymes or ion channels of pharmacological interest
drug delivery, including the roles and regulation of transporters in delivery or as targets
drug-metabolizing enzymes, including the regulation of their expression
pharmacogenomics
transcriptional and other mechanisms relevant to the expression and abundance of drug targets, or participating in signaling downstream of receptor activation
molecular mechanisms underlying disease or identification of new therapeutic targets
mechanisms of agonism, antagonism, allosteric modulation, and bias
approaches to protect tissues from damage, mechanisms of action for xenobiotics, or insights into toxicologic mechanisms
development of novel reagents, models, or technologies (e.g., RNA-based approaches; antibodies) that are of broad therapeutic applicability or yield new molecular insights
