These potentials are complemented by a broad spectrum of research and development activities in industry.

In the technology development concepts of both the states of Berlin and of Brandenburg biotechnology occupies a prominent place. The desire is to expand the area to become a leading international location for biotechnology. For that reason the necessary political and administrative framework was taken in hand and resources and know-how brought together. This development is strongly supported and promoted both in infrastructure and in company related terms.

The Biotechnology Park Luckenwalde represents a leading contribution in terms of the commercial revolution and diversification of activities in Brandenburg. The project enjoys the strong support of the state government and has pilot scheme status.
