C-Zero
C-Zero is a hard tech startup located in Santa Barbara, California. Our team combines a deep understanding of thermocatalysis with decades of experience in building some of the world's largest chemical plants.
Like all hydrocarbons, natural gas contains zero-emission energy in the form of hydrogen. In fact, 60% of the energy in natural gas comes from hydrogen and produces only water as a byproduct.
C-Zero’s technology is a form of methane pyrolysis that uses innovative thermocatalysis to extract the carbon in natural gas as a dense solid. The company is developing a drop-in decarbonization system which can be placed in between the existing natural gas infrastructure and industrial natural gas consumers seeking to lower their carbon dioxide emissions.
