Helsinn Advanced Synthesis S.A.

Helsinn Advanced Synthesis SA came on stream in October 2001. This investment has enabled the Group’s Chemical Operations to enter the field of HPAI and API manufacturing requiring special containment conditions. Located in Biasca, Switzerland (adjacent to Helsinn Chemicals SA), the 3-level building offers five segregated production bays for the manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients as well as two separated and isolated plants for the manufacturing of High Potency Active Ingredients.

Meticulous planning and expert consultation has enabled Helsinn Advanced Synthesis to design a facility with higher than state-of-the-art standards, which reflect and satisfy future regulatory requirements from a FDA standpoint (FDA inspected in July 2003, where NO FDA-483 Form was issued).

The plant is fully equipped with reactors, centrifuges and finishing areas, all in an air-conditioned and contained environment.
