Microbify is a specialized service provider in the field of anaerobic microbiology. The expertise is based on more than 40 years of experience of the Chair of Microbiology and Archaeence Center at the University of Regensburg, from which the company emerged in 2021. Microbify focuses on analyzing underground gas storage facilities in order to develop them for operation with renewable gases. In the process, the suitability of the facilities for the storage of hydrogen as well as the production of biomethane is investigated on behalf of customers. In addition, Microbify produces anaerobic microorganisms for biotechnological applications for its customers. Another business area is the analysis and control of biocorrosion, a widespread type of corrosion that is co-caused by microorganisms and can cause immense damage to the infrastructure of gas storage facilities and other plants.
