The Specialty Plastics business unit of AkzoNobel, formerly Soliant, produces cast polymeric films with specialty decorative effects including all colors, reflective chrome, anodized, brushed, printed patterns, textures (such as “soft feel”) and others, in addition to liquid decorative and protective coatings. Primarily based on fluoropolymer technology with a range of adhesives, films are outdoor weatherable, durable and moldable, for applications in automotive (interior and exterior), consumer electronics, photovoltaics, large appliances, signage and display, and other specialties. Production is in Lancaster, South Carolina, USA with sales offices in Europe, S. American and Asia.
