SpectraCure AB develops unique technology for interstitial photodynamic therapy with dosimetry in real-time based on research at the Atomic Physics Division and the Lund University Medical Laser Center.

SpectraCure has designed a photodynamic therapy (PDT) instrument that enables interstitial activation and real-time dosimetry of light for photodynamic therapy.

This technology will become important for treatment of small to mid-sized tumors which currently cannot be treated by PDT. Such tumors require interstitial light activation, i.e. the light is conducted into the tumor mass.

The most intriguing use of the current innovation is in situations where the tumor is inaccessible or in situations requiring little-invasive procedures.
